lady luck

I received a pretty package in the post a little while ago all the way from Brick Lane.
It was from our friends, pop art jewellery label, Lady Luck Rules OK. They sent this handmade wooden necklace from their new collection called Tattoo Parlour totally
inspired by the original rock ‘n’ roll queen Wanda Jackson. Visit ladyluckrulesok.com
to custom order a necklace of your own.

BOYS LIKE SHOPPING TOO

Hello boys. We’ve found a new shopping website that might appeal to the more lackadaisical among you. Lazyguy was set up under the assumption that most blokes don’t really want to spend hours shopping for good stuff to wear and would rather bag it all in one spot with minimum muss and fuss. With a mix of local and international brands including Meet Tyrone, Jon Pumper and David and Goliath, it’s well worth a looky-loo.

Products sourced from some of Australia’s leading accessories labels - including Luxe Accessories, Mogil, Pratten, Aliss & Ena, Mondo Design and an exclusive range of drink me, alice jewellery – are now up for purchasing the online way. nora does

Nora Does is an online creative boutique specialising in designer toys and collectables, plus a lovely range of prints and work by independent artists. The products come from all over the globe, from Japan to the UK. Personally I haven’t seen anything sweeter than these red riding hood stacking cups for a long time. And if you purchase a little something from Nora Does, the packaging for your order is environmentally friendly, from the recycled cardboard to the biodegradable bubble wrap. Goodie! Also, if you are an arty type and would like to sell your work through Nora Does they are more than happy to hear from you through their submissions page on their website.

Cute as a button

With the Australian dollar currently the laughing stock of the foreign currency world, there are those among us who might be tempted to cut back on the whole overseas, internet shopping lark. But there are still bargains to be found. These dinky little badge sets are only a little over seven bucks on Canadian site Thimble. They have loads of differently themed button packs to choose from (vintage fashion, holidays, lace doilies), so there’s a little somethin’ for everybody. Dare we say ‘stocking stuffer’?

CHRISTMAS WISH LIST #1

Still on the lookout for Christmas pressies? We’ve been having a good poke around some of our favourite online crafty shops and found lots of pretties to spread good cheer. 1. This Bird in Tree print by Yellow Monday might be a goodie for art lovers. It’s $22 from Moose: Art for Living. 2. Cute crochet cupcakes by Coming Out Crooked could make nice stocking stuffers for sweet-toothed craftsters. They come in chocolate or strawberry and are 12 bucks each from Made It. 3. These hand-painted tile coasters from Jo Pearson are kitschy-pretty and looking for a loving home. NZ$15 each from Toggle. 4. We’ve had Lindsay Pemberton’s stuff in the magazine before but we kind of can’t get enough of it. This yellow daisy tea bangle set is upcycled from old tea cups and pretty awesome to boot. NZ$120 from Clever Bastards. 5. A sweet little vintage swap card pendant to pretty up the neck of someone special. It’s $34.95 from Meet Me at Mikes
