Mega, epic, huge, monstrous, friggin' big. This is taking a love of doilies to a whole new level. These aren't actually doilies, they are in fact rugs and hand woven out of thick cotton rope. Made by Jean from online haven, Ladies and Gentlemen, the Mega Doily is pure loveliness of mammoth proportion. Custom made and available here. Oh, and they have pretty rad blog, too.

Yes, it's true, and we love hearing from you all! That's why we were so thrilled to get a little treat in our inbox from Simone K letting us know about the projects she's been working on. You might recognise these little coasters from the crafty section of issue 36. Pretty good job eh?

It's a split camp here at the frankie offices, some of us are lovers, some of us are haters, but there's no denying that the Twilight films (and those cute boys) have taken the world by storm. So if you are a lover (and we won't hold that against you), which one has stolen your heart? Is it fangs or fur? Throw us an email with your deets to be in the running to win one of these totes by Lola & Bailey, available here.

Scribbling down a handwritten note and slipping under someone's door, pillow, cup of tea or open window is one of those simple little things that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and probably makes the recipient love you that little bit extra. If you love writing notes as much as we love getting them, head over to Belles and Whiselles where you are sure to find lots and lots of handmade paper goodies fit for any occasion, or no occasion at all.

So we have a bit of a soft spot for hand-knitted treasures, kinda reminds us of warm blankets on cold days, hot choccy in front of the fire, winter wandering on blustery days when you can't feel your ears. So when we came across knitwear and textile designer Nikki Gabriel we got a little excited, then when we found out that she makes her own step-by-step patterns and bespoke wool, well, enough said. Nikki was kind enough to give us one amazing construction kit to giveaway, which includes patterns, wool and needles all beautifully packaged up and ready to be transformed into a wooly masterpiece. Email us here and let us know why you are in need of a winter project like this one. Oh and be sure to check out Nikki's online store and blog too.

So next weekend we reckon you should pack a woolen blanket, a well stocked picnic basket, some warm jumpers and boots and jump in the car for a little trip to Daylesford in Victoria. Not only would it be a sweet sweet drive, but it just so happens that online mecca for everything handmade and lovely, Lark are having a big garage sale at 4a Duke Street, with all current season stock at super affordable prices. We have also heard that Daylesford goes a little bit craft-crazy on the first weekend of July, with lots of fun things happening all over town...

These are super cute. If you love buttons, bows, pastels, gingham, string and pretty-as-pie cut-outs, have a little look at the Hello Fox. This range of brooches by the lovely Angie and Jo at Lucky Pony in South Africa are simple yet effective and they have us wishing we could wear one every day of the week!
