We love the Polyphonic Spree so the fact they’re touring Australia from February 19 gets us pretty excited (head to Myspace for touring details). Wonder if Kurt would have liked this "Lithium" cover?

LadyHawke will be popping up in Sydney this Thursday night, November 19. The fifth Soothers Pop Up Concert in will take place at the Civic Hotel in Sydney. This concert follows on from Sarah Blasko’s lovely Abbotsford Convent gig and a raucous Bloc Party set at The Valley Studios in Brissie, back in July. If you're a LadyHawke fan, head over to Nova 969 to find out how to score tickets to the gig. We've got two double passes up for grabs, so email us really quickly for the chance to win.
A quick fill in the gaps with New Zealand sweetheart Finn from The Veils. They're touring from November 25, so for tickets details and dates head over to Oztix. if you're in Brissie or Moshtix if you're in Melbs or Sydders. Hello my name is Finn but my friends call me Finnius. I'm a skinny big mouthed jerk with a microphone. Some people say I sound like Eartha Kitt in a windtunnel. When visiting New Zealand make sure you don't miss seeing The Mint Chicks play live or taking every available opportunity to hassle our accent. If I had to say something nice about myself I'd say I give good praise. Don't ever ask me to plumb in a new shower fitting because I probably can't. Things I like most in this worldare Roy Orbison and David Foster Wallace and manatees. I'm touring soon so come and be merry. Sun Gangs is out now through Remote Control.
Sunset Sounds in Brissie is ramping up to be a pretty special festival indeed. Set in the Brisbane Botanical and City Gardens, the festival will see the likes of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Moby, Jamie T, Datarock, The Middle East and Rodrigo y Gabriela strut their magical stuff over January 6 and 7. Better be quick to get tickets – they’re on sale through ticketmaster right this minute.

As someone who is a teeny bit smitten with Conor Oberst (aka bright eyes) and M.Ward, I was a little excited to hear about Monsters of Folk – a collaboration between the said two, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James and Mike Mogil. Have a little youtube listen.
After becoming addicted to their swoony mix of folk and pop over on MySpace , I’ve transformed into a bit of a Me and the Grownups true believer. And now they’re touring! Huzzah! The Perfect Storm tour will be taking in Melbourne, Castlemaine, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart and Launceston between July 4 and 19. Get thee to MySpace for dates near you!
This is what you get when you take four of India’s up and coming indie bands and plonk them in a studio with one of the UK’s top producers. Saffron summer sounds to warm a winter’s day.

Last year we supported Nouvelle Vague and DJ $olal, and this year we have another musical treat. Lykke Li! We are pleased to support the Swedish songstress for her two headline shows on her first Australian tour, and give anyone that missed out on SOLD OUT festival tickets a chance to see the pretty lady. As well as appearances at the Falls Festivals across the country, Lykke Li will now play intimate sideshows at the Prince of Wales in Melbourne on January 4th and Oxford Art Factory in Sydney on January 5th. We have been secret fans of Lykke Li for some time now, so this is super exciting for us. frankie is officially pink with excitement!
