We have been hearing lovely things about the design goodness and generalised cute factor of the Oxford Street Markets in Leederville (100 Oxford Street, Saturdays 9-5pm). Cool Perth kids like Made on the Left and Little Design Horse are participating through January, so you’ve got two Saturdays left to go scoop up their wares. |

Gird your retro-lovin’ loins, Perth kids. The ladies of Sugar Blue Burlesque are holding a vintage fleamarket this Sunday 18th at the Burlesque Lounge, upstairs 267 William Street, Northbridge, and it sounds like a corker. Wares on sale include recycled clothing from the 1920s to 1980s, antiques, retro and novelty costumes, pin-up lingerie, burlesque merchandise, sewing and crafting supplies and retro cupcakes. Plus our current ‘I Love My Shop’ retailer, Delilah Carter from Winifred & Bance, will be there with some lovely stuff to sell. Sounds like a grand day out. |

Speaking of cheeky little Chrimbo gifts … Brisbane’s Etsy street team, BrisStyle, is putting together something of a market extravaganza tomorrow December 13th at Hamilton Town Hall. Over 30 local Etsy-ers will be selling their homemade wares, plus the very kick arse 4ZzZ will be broadcasting live from the crafting bonanza in the afternoon. Raffle tickets and other fundraising will be going towards the Knitting for Brisbane’s Needy charity. Sounds pretty freakin’ cool. |

Melbourne artist Fleur Harris is something of a mistress of all trades when it comes to creating: drawing, stitching and now, with her new exhibition Something Wicked This Way Comes, providing a bevy of remarkable paper cuts for punters to ooh and aah over. We are a little bit in love with Fleur’s work so we’re pleased as punch to be announcing our sponsorship of the opening day party for her new show. It’s on this Saturday December 6th from 1-5pm at the Rooftop Bar, Level 6, 252 Swanston Street in Melbourne. And as well as all Fleur’s swell stuff there’s activities galore with an artist market featuring some of the city’s favourite crafties and designers (including Aunty Cookies, Mont La Roc and Mingus Designs), live paintings from guest artists running all day, wine tastings, massages and (if you’re extra lucky) some frankie magazines to give away. Have a look-see at www.fleurharris.com for everything else you need to know. |

In the market for cheap cheap cheap Chrissie pressies? Some of our favourite brands are having sales in the lead-up to December 25th, so we thought we’d pass the good news along. First up is Imitation of Christ, with a Sydney sample sale on this Thursday 27th, which includes goodies from Lips Denim, Mini Market and Chloe Sevigny & Opening Ceremony Shoes as well. It’s on from 5 to 8pm at The PR Store, 236a Riley Street, Surry Hills. Still in Sydney town, we’ve got Camilla & Marc’s relocation sale – current and previous seasons, including C&M Swim, prices from $20 – 10am to 6pm on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th. That one’s at 291 Young Street, Waterloo. Then there’s the Yeojin Bae warehouse sale with all current samples and previous collections up to 75% off – dresses start from 80 bucks. Yay! It’s one day only on Saturday 29th, 9am to 4.30pm at Sun Studios, Studio 1, 42 Maddox Street, Alexandria. Down in Melbourne, LIFEwithBIRD (which you can see in our pretty picture below) are having a bit of a clean out, with dresses, shoes and bags from $40 and tops from $20. That’s at 36 Garden Street, South Yarra from 10-6pm on Friday 28th and then 10-5pm on Saturday 29th. Finally, Kinki Gerlinki’s Garage Sale is on Friday28th and Saturday 29th from 9-5pm at The Abbotsford Convent, 1 St Heliers Street, Abbotsford. There’ll be tonnes of clothes, shoes, jewellery, belts, accessories and men’s and children’s stuff as well. Hurrah! |
